Why should I convert my Direct Publisher App into a SDK app?

The sunset of the Direct Publisher channel will happen on Jan 12, 2024; after this day, all the Direct Publisher apps will be removed from Roku Channel Store, and service providers will have to convert their apps to SDK channels.

How long has VidApp been around?

We launched our first apps in 2013. Today we power apps for world-leading brands and other major course and OTT platforms.

Do I need to setup my own Developer Titles?

Yes, you will need to setup your own Developer Titles. VidApp can only launch apps on an Apple Developer Title that is setup as Company/Organization.

Do you handle Apple and Google Play Store app submissions and reviews?

Yes! Unlike other app providers, we handle all app submission and reviews for you. You are in charge of maintaining your Developer Titles and agreements with Apple + Google. VidApp can not do this for you.

Are there any setup costs?

No, we don't charge a setup fee. Apps with a high level of customization and specific features may incur a setup costs depending on the level of customization.

When does my payment plan start?

If you’re officially going ahead and the VidApp Team is helping you to build and launch your apps, then your payment plan starts when we kick off the app building process.

What happens if I cancel my plan with VidApp?

You can cancel anytime with 45-days notice, and VidApp will shut down your apps and no longer support them.

If I go ahead and launch my apps, who owns the data and the app code?

You have 100% ownership of your content and data. Just as your web platform owns the code of your website infrastructure, VidApp owns the code of your app infrastructure. As such, we maintain and update it for you. Here is the link to our T&C's and Here is our privacy policy.
